Following our mission statement to promote educational, and community-based activities; encourage personal growth, and support the community of military and civilians in USAG Bavaria, the BCSC proudly announces that we will award scholarships to attend AWAG´s 69th Annual Leadership Conference.

AWAG (Americans Working Around the Globe) is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization serving the military communities in Europe with a goal to train, strengthen and connect leaders in our military communities. AWAG will host its Annual Leadership & Professional Development Seminar from April 27-May 1 at Edelweiss  Lodge and Resort in Garmisch.

Scholarship Covers:

  • Double occupancy at Edelweiss Lodge & Resort: check-in Sunday afternoon, check-out Thursday morning.
  • Sunday: Opening Ceremony and Dinner - Welcome to AWAG! What's going on this week?
  • Monday: Coffee and light pastries offered between classes. Day of professional development seminars, and lunch.
  • Tuesday: Coffee and light pastries offered between classes. Day of professional development seminars, lunch, and Corporate Night Event Dinner.
  • Wednesday: Coffee and light pastries offered between classes. Day of professional development seminars, lunch, and Closing Ceremony with dinner.
  • Thursday: Breakfast available for purchase at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort.​

Apply for AWAG Scholarship

AWAG Scholarship Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must be a sponsor or dependent (Active Duty or DoD employee) assigned to and living within the Grafenwoehr and/or Vilseck community.
  • Applicants must be available to attend the seminar for the entire period from April 27 -May 1 in Garmisch and meet all requirements to access and stay at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort. ​(Transportation will not provided by the BCSC)
  • A full application package including a short essay must be submitted by March 1, 2025, 11:59pm. We will notify all applicants by March 5th, 2025. A response from the applicant is required by March 8th, 2025. If we do not receive a timely response the Scholarship might be awarded to another applicant. 

We hope to provide community volunteers and leaders with an opportunity to broaden their knowledge, learn soft skills, make valuable connections with others around Europe and bring those new experiences back home to Grafenwoehr and Vilseck. ​
